This is actually Jeff...my computer was hit by lightning the other day and is still down so we registered Dara on her computer...then I took it.
I want to say first...I didn’t see Laminators Inc. listed as a merchant but I’m sure some of the merchants here sell Laminators products so I hope Barb and Steve don’t mind this being brought up here.
I have had conversations with several different sign makers about Laminators’ Alumalite, Econolite, and D-lite product line. All have agreed...they like the products but wish they were offered with a thicker aluminum face that would resist dents better.
The current thickness is .016”. I for one would gladly pay more (pass on the cost) for a panel that wouldn’t dent as easily. (maybe .040”?)
My thought is if we can get enough positive feedback here supporting this thicker version maybe Laminators would listen.
So I ask of anyone that agrees with the need for a thicker faced product please respond so we can show Laminators.
If you have negative comments about said products please start a new thread.

I'd like to bragg on how good Dibond from Alu-Suisse is but I see they no longer advertise here either. Hmmm...
I don't get it. In the first year I used it I used over 180 sheets of 4mm dibond and guess where I heard of it. Check with EM plastics the canadian distributer... no bull.
I guess the cost of advertising here is just out of their league ... like $500 per year is going to hurt the cheap bestids!
Somneone please forward this ...

I think a heavier face on Alumalite is a great option.

Wouldn't mind it myself....sounds like a good idea...

I vote yes! Thickening it up would probably add to the cost (aluminum costs are up) but maybe they could offer either a thicker version or the original. Choice is always good.

Just a thought...
For the manufacturer, it so much isn't a question of how many customers express an interest as it is how many sheets per year each of them will buy.
If you really want to test the power of Letterville - and really are prepared to purchase a thicker wall version - tell them how many sheets you will buy as soon as it is ready-to-ship and tell them your projected annual volume.
