Hello,

I am wondering what ya'll use to prime raw red brick walls to be painted with full coverage mural using 1 shot lettering enamel?

Personally, I would use a good latex primer, then a coat of exterior white latex. That way you won't be trying to cover the red brick color with the 1Shot... wind up with mor vibrant colors, that way!

I use a white latex primer on all my walls.

SPRAY it on. Quicker, better coverage and gets into all the cracks and grout lines.

I have allways used block filler latex primer. I spray it on, but you will need a good sprayer the block filler is thick.

For the two plain brick walls that were painted at the Mars meet, we used Ronan Block Out White Primer
The walls still look great 3 years later.

Just like most said Dale. The last one I did I used Dunn and Edwards Masonary Primer and Sealer, then came back and used their best exterior latex. But if you really want that baby to look Super SWEET, Finish it off with the 1-shot grafitti clear, the Two Part System one.

Flat white traffic marking paint makes an excellant base for wall work. Did you ever see any lines cracking and peeling along the side of the highway? It covers great too!
