Project!

I have a system question on what I would buy in the Advertising Industry.
The money is unlimited.....

So what would you buy for a "tower system "as well as a Digital,Laser,Thermal,Plotter, peripheral output to make a full operational Graphics Unit!

Thanks for your replies!

A box of pencils and a decent pad of paper.

One, you could build a really good machine with a P4 3 gig CPU, a 160 gig hard drive, and 2 gigs of memory, and a video with a good size meory..

Or you could goto the DELL website and peruse their new, and refurbed systems and get a deal.

Lots of USB ports and a serial port are a must.

You need lots of memory. My system has 1 gig of 400 memory. Sometimes I wish I had 2 gigs or more. I just rendered a 3 x 16 ft. 100 DPI tiff file and my machine lagged.

A color laser printer that can print tab size 11x17. A legal size scanner. That would be a good start.

Hiya Stephen,
Here's a link to what I recently purchased
http://www.letterhead.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/33108.html
If money was no object, I would have sprung for the 3.6 ghz processors and the 15k rpm hard drives.
I didn't research any CRT monitors because I already had one. Don't waste your money on an LCD. i.m.h.o. you can get a lot more bang for your buck with a good crt.
As for the printers and other stuff, it's more of your personal preference and what you plan to do with them.
A lot of my decision making is based on the tech support on the products I buy. It's not a question of if it's going to break down, but when. And when it breaks, I need to know how soon it's going to be repaired or replaced.

Havin' fun,

Checkers
