I got in a small price war with an out of towner. I just want to make sure I am being reasonable. (SI, I already know your answer) but, here goes:
2-one sided 4x8 construction signs on MDO, covered with a digital print expected to last 1-2 years outdoor. installed on non treated 4x4's on the site....How much? Posted by Kissymatina (Member # 2028) on :
One million dollars (said with tip of pinky finger touching corner of mouth) Posted by Gene Golden (Member # 3934) on :
Rick, Complete digital print on the 4x8 or partial? Are you producing the print or buying it? 1/2" or 3/4" MDO? Easy digging???

2 holes & posts w/ signs back to back?
I'd want at least $1500 & would get more from some clients, but I'd also take less under some circumstances... like if I needed the work, or wanted to edge out the out-of-towner for possible long-term results.
Maybe as low as $1000 if were talking easy digging in sandy soil & no bracing required against high winds... & no more then 20 m inutes drive each way.
low budget sign, 1-2 years life? maybe a digital printed banner from kinkos stapled to primed MDO Posted by Devin Fahie (Member # 3961) on :
$800 (each), not laminated, Plus any artwork.

There is a place that will do 4x8 digital prints all day long for $80.00 + ship (your file) specifically marketed for site signs, you apply to your favorite substrate. So, 2 hrs layout/sales time @ $60.00 hr = $120.00, (1) sheet of prepainted 1/2" MDO @ $60.00, Mask and apply graphic, 1.5 hrs. Total: $390.00 30% mark up: $117.00
List price: $507.00

$480 each is fair price for a full 4x8 digital print. Add $250 for post and install.
I sold a 4x8 s.f. digital print on 10mil coro for $350 to an old client. he picked it up and did his own install. my total material cost was $35.00 and took one hour to complete. This example was intended to be a temporary sign. I will also be doing the really nice permanent entrance signs so you have to weigh the temp sign against the more expensive permanent sign.
The client was blown away. The first day the sign was up he sold his first lot and now only two months later they are all sold. He couldnt state enough how effective this for sale sign was.

Bob, what are you using to print at a cost of under $1 per sq. ft. after the cost of the coro. ?

Roland Versa Camm???

Wow, the answers are as diverse as the people on the board. However, I have a good feel for the direction to go. Thanks Heads!

I think it has to do with location. Up here it would be $576.00 for the uncoated print, $38.80 for the S/S MDO, $40 to clearcoat or paint one side of the MDO (so the print will adhere), and $15.00 to mount the print.
Lat
*Forgot to say that if the print was more than 360DPI and went to 720DPI it would be more, and even more if it went to 1440dpi.*

We just put up this type job last week before leaving for Charlotte. Two vertical 8'x 4' single faced on 4" x 4" treated posts - set in gravel for easy removal when project was completed. The digital print was 3' x 4' and the remainder of the sign was vinyl.
Installed 40 miles from shop.
$1,875.00 plus tax.
