Hellow fellow Heads:

About a year ago "Extirra", exterior MDF, was introduced to us and there was lots of chat about it, but am wondering if anyone has current results.

Many of us got burned with the porduct "Medex" which had the same claim of being an exterior fiber board. Not!

Please let us know what if any are your findings with weathering, and what part of the country you are using it.

Thanks

Joe

so far i've abused the pi$$ out of my little sample...primed w/ 4 screws... in water(frozen), then sun, in brook, then sun...its getting rained on right now on the deck...i've dropped it to knick the corners...on 1 corner i can pick away at it and its kind of that layered cancer we don't like to see....still in testing for me.

Thanks Karyn for your in-depth research. Hey, maybe you can apply to the mayor of Letterville for "government funding" for your time and research!! Then you can tell us how it causes cancer in laboratory animals, just like caffiene and everything else I like!

All kidding aside, Thanks for including us and keeping us posted. [Wink] [Wink]

We done 2 exterior signs that have gone through our Cleveland winter and one interior sign. The exterior signs are around the corner from our shop so we can keep an eye on them. So far so good. The only complaint we get is from our installer who hates this stuff because its so heavy.

So far VERY Pleased with the Product. Have done 2 Routed raised signs with it. Machines great Sands Easy Seems to hold paint good. If it holds up to the weather as Promised I have a new replacement for HDU as long as weight isn't an Issue. But I also have a sign that was done with straight MDF that is still holding up great that was made 7 years ago so I feel if you prime and paint properly it will last a long time.. But we are a very dry climate here.
