Jeremy, that's really a tough question, because there is so much you can do with a photo malipulation program. I would suggest getting one of their videos, you can learn quite a bit and at your own pace.
One of my favorite things I like to do (if you have eye candy) to lettering is to go into effects, use the texture, "elephant skin" click, back into effects, use "plastic" back into effects, under eye candy, use "inner bevel" back into effects, under eye candy again, use the drop shadow. you will have some nice lettering. Of course you will see you will have to tweak it to your desire on all the effects. have fun, hope that helps you a little...

I use Corel 9, so I can't say anything for 11 I have never used it, but I'm sure it has a lot more features.

Hi Jeremy,
I'm no Photo Paint guru, but if version 11 comes with "tutorials" you might try them. Until the last year or so I just used Photo Paint to remove backgrounds and simple stuff. I did a couple of the tutorials and it helped me to understand some of the functions. Once you get the hang of it...the possibilities are endless.

There are some pretty cool add-ons for effects and textures you can buy. One of them is "Eye Candy" >> http://www.alienskin.com/

If you know someone close that knows their way around the program, if you could spend a little time with them, that would be a huge help.

Tony

Jeremy...Look through the tutorials offered at www.lynda.com. There are some samples to view and if you think the program will be of some use to you, you can sign up for a month for $25USD. There are other options which allow you to view more but the cost goes up according to what you wish to use. [Smile]

Good luck.

I recommend everyone new to Corel programs should take the time to go throught the tutorials that come with CorelDraw. Photopaint has a tutorial also it is under Help on the file bar. Then if you need to know how to do things you should have some basics of this photo manipulation program. I use this program alot so if you have a question send me a e-mail.

http://www.unleash.com/

That's Graphics Unleashed. Lots and lots of Corel turorials.

Don't forget to study Foster Coburn's "Getting rid of that darned White Box." Maybe it's in the manual nowadays, but it's plagued Corel newbies for years, and the solution is quite simple.
